A Summer Wedding at Villa Corsini Near Florence
Amanda and Michael live in New York and brought their closest friends and family to Villa Corsini, near Florence, for one very memorable day in Tuscany.
The villa immediately caught us off guard. The scale, the rooms, the light, the architecture—everywhere we looked, there was another photograph waiting to happen. Some venues need decoration to create an atmosphere. Villa Corsini already has one.
The ceremony took place outside on a day that reached more than 35 degrees. It was unmistakably Italian summer: bright, intense and incredibly photogenic. Later, everyone moved into the gallery, where one exceptionally long table ran through the room. It was a bold dinner setup, but in a space like this, it felt completely natural.
Wedding Italy planned the celebration, led by Sonia and her team. We had worked together before, and once again they were calm, precise and genuinely pleasant throughout the entire day. Nothing felt stressful, although everything ran exactly as it should. For couples planning a wedding in Italy from abroad, that kind of local experience is invaluable.
We photographed the wedding digitally and on analogue film, and also created the wedding video. Amanda and Michael gave us so much to work with. They were open, warm and completely present with their guests.
One moment at the end of the night says more about them than any description could. When we wanted to say goodbye, they left the dance floor and insisted on finding every member of our team. They hugged everyone, thanked us personally and took the time to say a few kind words. It was thoughtful, sincere and very rare.
Villa Corsini was a joy to photograph, but it was the people who made this one of our favourite weddings we have ever documented. We left inspired—and very certain that we would like to return.
