London Wedding Photographer, A Civil Wedding Captured Entirely on Film
What I remember most about Chu and Xavier’s wedding is not only how beautiful everything looked, but how the entire day felt. There was constant movement, constant laughter, endless kisses and this real sense of excitement from beginning to end. Nobody held back. Every hug felt genuine, every conversation warm, every moment fully lived in.
As a photographer, those are the weddings that stay with you. Not because everything is perfectly curated, but because people are genuinely enjoying themselves. Chu and Xavier moved through London with so much ease and joy, surrounded by friends from France and London who celebrated them with such openness and energy. From Islington Town Hall to the red London bus and all the way into the night at House of KOKO, the atmosphere never dropped for a second.
Photographing all of this entirely on analog film made it feel even more alive.
I photographed the entire wedding on a Contax G2, which felt like the perfect camera for a day like this. The scans and development were done by Carmencita Film Lab in Valencia, whose work gave the images exactly the timeless and tactile feeling I had hoped for when documenting this wedding.
Looking through the final photographs now, what stands out most is not perfection, but emotion.
